What is a Clean Your Closet Kit?
A Clean Your Closet Kit is a great way to clean out unused and unwanted, but cared for clothes. Your pre-loved items are received, sorted, curated and are sold on to help complete the circular fashion revolution. Items we are unable to sell are upcycled, recycled or re-purposed to reduce the amount of clothes going to landfill.
How do I order a Clean Your Closet Kit?
To request a Clean Your Closet Kit please fill out the form.
Please chose one of the following options:
Donation : This means that you are happy to donate your pre-loved clothes to us. If we are able to sell your clothes we donate 10% of the sale to one of the charities we support. If we are unable to sell any of your clothes we will then upcycle, recycle or re-purpose or maybe just make something cool with the material.
Secondhand Sisters Store Credit Coupon: This is the same as the Donation option with a bonus for you. Once we have received your Clean Out Kit, we then sort through all items and determine what is viable for sale. For every viable piece of clothing we will issue you $1.00 per item, your total amount will then be issued to you as store credit in the form of a coupon. Congratulations, you are now officially a part of circular fashion! All non-viable clothing will then be upcycled, recycled or re-purposed or maybe just make something cool with the material.
Please note that Clean Your Closet Kit services are currently only available to customers within Australia. We hope to expand to other countries in the future!
Can I cancel my Clean Your Closet Kit?
Clean Your Closet Kit cannot be canceled once they are placed, but if you find that you no longer wish to use a Clean Your Closet Kit you received, we kindly ask you to reuse it or maybe give to a friend whoose closet is worse than yours.
When will my Clean Your Closet Kit order be delivered?
Clean Your Closet Kits are shipped via Australia Post and may take up to 3-5 days to arrive.
How do I get my Clean Your Closet Kit back to The Secondhand Sisters?
It's as easy as 1,2,3...
1. Once you have come to terms with letting go of that unused clothing, jump into that closet and get
sorting.... Remember it's important to follow our guidelines of what we do and do not accept!
2. Pack all the sorted clothes that meet our guidelines into the satchel we provided you with and attach the shipping label.
3. Take the satchel to an Australia Post Outlet. That's it!
When will my Clean Your Closet Kit be delivered to The Secondhand Sisters?
Clean Your Closet Kits typically take 1-3 days to arrive at the The Secondhand Sisters warehouse. When your Clean Out Kit arrives, you will receive an email letting you know we received it and an estimated processing date.
When will my Clean Your Closet Kit be processed?
Clean Your Closet Kits are typically received by us within 1-7 days of being sent by you. From there, we process satchels as thoroughly and as quickly as possible. Most satchels are processed within a couple of weeks of receipt, but since satchel volume can vary, so can our processing times. Once the satchel has been processed we will send you an email telling you how much was viable, how much is non-viable and determine your store credit coupon amount.
What brands do you accept for sale?
We accept hundreds of current and timeless brands, including labels like Banana Republic, Anthropologie, Zara, Madewell, and many many more!
What items can I send ?
We accept women's, men's, girl's and boy's clothing, shoes and accessories in new or like-new condition! All submitted items must meet our quality standards to be accepted and resold by The Secondhand Sisters. Remember if you wouldn't buy it, don't send it in!
What are your quality standards?
All items are carefully reviewed by our authentification and style experts to determine resale value. Only high-quality items that meet our strict standards will be accepted. Please review the details below before sending in your Clean Your Closet Kit.
Note: Due to the cost of shipping and processing, items not accepted by us cannot be returned to you.

New or like-new secondhand clothing that has been freshly laundered.

Top kids’ brands such as: Rock your Baby, Polo by Ralph Lauren, Gap, Bonds, Next, Tommy Hilfiger, and Seed, etc.

Top women’s brands such as: Seed, Country Road, Anthropologie, Lululemon, Nike, Kenzo, Camilla and Marc, Ralph Lauren, and Bec and Bridge, etc.

Top Men's Brands such as: Country Road, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, GStar, Ben Sherman, and Carhartt, etc.

New-with-tags (NWT) items.

Items that are in-season, on-trend, and have been purchased within the past five years.
Do not send:

Clothing, handbags, or accessories showing signs of wear: rips, tears, pilling, fading, shrinkage, or blemishes of any kind.

When sending shoes, please check the top surface, interior, and soles to ensure they are clean and free of scuff marks.

Items with missing or broken parts, stains and odors, or items that are shrunk, stretched, or altered.

Clean out tips:

We encourage you to send in clothing from last season. For example, in October send us those summer clothes you are no longer wear. Sending us a satchel in May? Winter items, please.

New-with-tags items are not automatically accepted. They must meet our high-quality standards and be free of imperfections.

To help identify matching sets, please place them in smaller bags within your Clean Your Closet Kit.
Can I Get Back My Accepted or Unaccepted Items?
No. Once your Clean Your Closet Kit has been processed, we are unable to send any items back.
How much can I send in my Clean Out Kit?
We have a standard satchel that has a maximum weight capacity of 20kgs. Most clothes weigh approximately 0.5 kg so no more than 40 pieces of clothing is recommended.
How much can I earn for the items I send?
Our Secondhand Sisters Store Credit Coupon structure is designed to make cleaning out your closet and getting paid easy.
Once the sorting process has been completed we will send you an email of the breakdown of your items and how much Secondhand Sisters Store Credit Coupon you ahave earned.
What Happens to My Unaccepted Items?
We have high quality standards and typically accept less than 40% of the clothing we receive for resale. All unaccepted items become property of The Secondhand Sisters and cannot be returned or exchanged for compensation at a later time.
Items that are still in good shape but don’t meet our resale standards may be sold to customers as part of our Rescue Collection. Whenever possible, we work with upcycling partners who have the same standards and ethics as us.
